“Slow: A Symposium in Praxis & Theory”—a one-day interdisciplinary event hosted by MCLA and MASS MoCA—will be held at MASS MoCA in North Adams, MA on Friday, November 1, 2019. The symposium will feature over 40 speakers from a range of scholarly and creative disciplines including keynote lecturer, Tina Campt, Claire Tow and Ann Whitney Olin Professor of Africana and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies at Barnard College and author of Listening to Images (Duke UP, 2017) and Image Matters: Archive, Photography, and the African Diaspora in Europe (Duke UP, 2012).

Registration fees include access to all symposium events including keynote luncheon and evening reception plus 2-day admission to MASS MoCA.


Full-time Faculty / Independent Scholars & Artists: $100

Part-time Faculty / Graduate Students: $80

Attending (non-presenting): $75
